Related products - Radian

Overview

Use Related products on a product template to help visitors continue shopping. Shopify supplies recommendations for the current product, and Radian loads them after the product page opens.

Shopify can generate related products automatically. Install Shopify Search & Discovery when you want to review and customize recommendations for individual products.

Prepare product recommendations

SHOPIFY ADMIN SETUP

01Check product availabilityThe source and recommended products must be active and available on the Online Store sales channel.
02Open Search & DiscoveryInstall or open Shopify Search & Discovery if you want to customize recommendations.
03Edit a productChoose a product and add or adjust its related products.
04Save changesReturn to the storefront product page after Shopify has processed the recommendation data.

Add the section

In the Theme Editor, open a product template. Select Add section, choose Related products, and place it after the main product information or another suitable product-detail section.

Build the section header

Add theme blocks to create a heading or supporting content above the recommendations. Arrange those blocks in the sidebar to control their displayed order.

How loading works

Recommendations are requested asynchronously for the product currently being viewed. The section remains hidden when Shopify returns no products, which prevents an empty recommendations area from taking up space.

The Theme Editor can show preview content while you configure the section. Always confirm the final result on an actual product page because live recommendations depend on that product’s Shopify data.

Troubleshooting

If the section is missing on the storefront, confirm it is added to the active product template and that Shopify returns related products for the current product. Check product status, sales-channel availability, inventory, and Search & Discovery configuration. A preview in the Theme Editor does not guarantee that every live product has recommendations.
