Custom product options
Custom options let customers personalise a product: engraving text, a gift message, a delivery date, an uploaded logo, or extra choices. The answers travel with the item into the cart and the order as line item properties.
How to set it up
Step 1: Add an option
- Open the product template that should have options (Treble includes custom-options as an example).
- In Product details, click Add block and choose an option: Text, Long text, Dropdown, Checkboxes, Date or File upload.
- Set the Option name (1) (shown on the page, in the cart and in the order), whether it is Required (2), and its help text.
Step 2: Assign the template
- In Shopify admin, open each product that needs the options and choose the template under Theme template.

How it works
- Required options must be filled before the product can be added to the cart.
- Dates respect the earliest and latest dates and can skip weekends.
- Uploaded files are stored by Shopify and linked in the order.
- Options don't change the price. For paid extras, use the Add-ons block.
Troubleshooting
Options don't show on a product.
Check that the product uses the template with the option blocks (Theme template in Shopify admin).
